I realized it'd be a bit snowy and icy, but the thaw has definitely started, so how hard could it be?
It got a bit worrying looking at big icicles that had crashed to the ground (27) but only got scary between (32) and (33). Note that at the top of 32 you can see how the handrail chains are in fact under the ice. Getting over this required sliding over the the ice on my side while pulling myself up; (33) was the first place I felt comfortable enough after that to stop. (39) was roughly the same.
Mad respect to the Nike ice & snow trail shoes (41) my sister bought me for Christmas. Couldn't have done it without them.
In conclusion, don't walk up Cascadilla on the first day of March before the ice and snow has melted. It will make you late for class and you might die.
